F.A.Q
Why Should I do Brushmagedon?
Brushmagedon is made to help artists in multiple areas.
Been limited to use a single brush can help us think outside the regular drawing habits developing new creative ways solving problems in our paintings.
You may or may not, find a new brush that become your new favorite, but trying new brushes constantly and put them into actual use can help you find the one that will become part of your work.
It can also provide content for social media, some people (like me) have way to many brushes and making a drawing with every single one, turns out in to a lot work that you can share.
It can help you out of art block (not saying it will magically solve it). Sometimes we don't know what to draw, it happens to everyone, from beginners to professionals. Using different brushes with different shapes or textures can help us to came up with ideas in the middle of the process.
It help artists to answer the mythical, the legendary, the one and only question we all have heard:
What brush did you use? (if you want to share the brush name, welcome to share).

It can also help artists to find new brushes. You can look at someone else's Brushmagedon and if you like the brush used, you can look it up, and buy it. This way Artis help Artist.
One artist inspires you, you find a new brush, you help other artist. is a win win situation.

It can also help us improve our artistic skills, as mention, been limited to use one brush can make us push our boundaries as artists, that combine with the amount of work (depending on how many brushes you have) will translate into practice, a ton of practice, that will eventually help you improve your skills.
What type of drawings do I have to make?

Any type of drawing is good in the Brushmagedon, from daily sketches to full illustrations. We are artist, you choose what art you want to make.

Can I use more than one brush per drawing?
Only if you feel comfortable using more than one. The main objective of Brushmagedon is to help you identify your brushes and what they can actually do when used in a drawing. But if you can identify more than one brush you are free to do so, still I personally suggest to use one brush or maximum three. But again, we are artist, we choose what art we want to make and how we want to make it.

Challenge or contest?
Brushmagedon is not a contest, is a challenge, one that I personally been doing almost daily for a couple months and that I started mainly to help me practice and warming up before working on projects.
Are there any prompts for this challenge?
Due to the size of the challenge for some people (like me that I don't know how many brushes I actually have) it will be really hard to make a prompt list that can cover all the brushes for every single person that want to be part of the challenge. Some people can have around ten brushes, others can have up to a thousand.

Do I have to do it daily?

No, you can make this challenge at your own peace, you can choose to make a daily drawing or as many as you can do. You are free to choose how you want to experience Brushmagedon.

Can I do traditional art?

Of course you can. There are way more materials than just the trusty pencil and paper, you can try inks, oils, watercolors, markers, color pencils, acrylics, paper types, etc. The only problem would be getting the materials.
My Brushmagedon
For the last 3 months I've been doing this challenge by myself and thought it will be nice to share with my fella artists and why not, with the artists around the world. To inspire people so that I can be able to see what we can all do and how different we all approach the challenges that comes with the limitation of one brush. To help artist find a fun and creative way to practice or to find new techniques.
Let me show you an example of some drawings I have made since I started this challenge.

As you may see, most of this drawing aren't really complex but more like studies, this is how I've been doing Brushmagedon in the last couple months.
I may not be the greatest artist in the world, but it is in my interest to inspire other artists to create so artists inspiring artists to create, eventually leading to a chain of endless inspiration around the world.

I hope you all find Brushmagedon challenging, creative, but most than anything, fun.
Happy painting.
